Email Direct Marketing (EDM) is often an overlooked yet powerful tool in the marketing domain. While the digital age has brought a plethora of new marketing channels, EDM remains a highly effective way to reach and engage customers.

According to recent 2022 studies, the effectiveness of email marketing continues to grow. A report from Litmus states that marketers can expect an average return of $36 for every $1 spent on email marketing, a slight decrease from previous years but still representing a significant ROI. Furthermore, the study shows that 77% of marketers say email is one of their most effective channels, and 78% have seen email engagement increase in the last 12 months.

Another 2022 study by HubSpot reported that email generates $38 for every $1 spent, a 3,800% ROI. 59% of respondents said email is their biggest source of ROI. Therefore, ignoring such a powerful tool could be a costly mistake for businesses of any size.

Despite these benefits, many companies underutilize EDM. It's often seen as outdated, especially compared to newer, flashier social media platforms. But the data paints a different picture. Companies that have leveraged EDM have seen consistent growth in customer acquisition.

Although EDMs are still very relevant, we believe that customisation is the name of the game now. Being able to segment your consumer base and create EDM’s targeting the demographics specific needs is what will determine your success.

When was the last time you sent out an EDM?
